Frequently Asked Questions for Mantras
How should I select which mantra to use?
This is a such a personal choice. The reason I say this is because a lot of us do not have the same needs, on the same day, or for the same duration until we notice improvement by using mantras.
My best advice to give for this question is this, "Use whichever mantra feels right and best for you at that moment." A good tip to help with this is to make a list of mantras that you want to try based on what you're trying to improve (self-love, confidence, anxiety, stress, accepting chronic pain, etc.) and when you're getting ready to do something where you can integrate a mantra, open that list. Read through your mantra list and see which one really speaks to you or sticks out the most from that list and use that one, whether you're taking in to your meditation or yoga practice. If tomorrow when you want to use a mantra, it might be the same one or be completely different. There are no right or wrong mantras to use, but I cannot recommend selecting mantras when you need them enough as our first instinct on choosing one is often driven by knowing what we're struggling with that day and our inner wisdom will draw us to it. Remember: You don't ever need to stick with one mantra. Experience and try as many mantras as you can to find your favorites and which ones work best for you and on which days/how you're feeling. |

Where do I begin?! There are so many mantras I use (and yes, I keep them listed in my 'Notes' section on my cell phone so I can pull them up whenever I need to and find which one suits my needs at that moment).

How to Create Your Own Mantras
Mantra Overwhelm?
It is so easy to get overwhelmed with mantras, especially when you're first exploring them to try out.
While it can be helpful to use some of the more widely recognized mantras, others may find using their own created mantras is much easier. So how exactly do you create your own mantra? It's simple and a lot easier than what you probably think - bonus! Here's the process I use to create my own mantras:

Don't be afraid to dive deep into your emotions and explore your inner-self because this is how you create the perfect mantras for yourself. Deep down, we all know what and how we feel with all kinds of struggles or triumphs in life, so you want to be able to hone in on that and write it out with a short and sweet phrase to be used as a mantra.
When you feel that way again, that's the perfect time to revisit your mantra and use it, along with bringing it into your meditation or yoga practice to help your body and mind form that connection.
Personally, I find that having mantras for several of my emotions works best for me. On my bad days, I have gentle mantras to remind myself that I'm not broken, it's just a bad day. On my good days, I have gratitude mantras to use so I can increase my feelings of happiness and sense of overall well-being. On days where I'm anxious for whatever reason, I have a set of mantras to use with my spinner rings as a coping strategy.
The options to create your own mantras are limitless - you can do this.
And when you do create your own mantras, I would love for you to share them with me and learn how they've helped you.
